The native New Guineans (dubbed Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels) built the huts which served as signal stations and accommodation for each Signals Unit.  The Australian servicemen regarded these as comfortable digs and added such essentials as showers, footy fields, loos with views - whatever their ingenuity could improvise.  It was rough but it was home.
